ISO Re-certification success for Kal Tire

We are pleased to announce that Kal Tire Ltd have successfully met and maintained the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

Kal Tire Ltd are a long-standing client of Quality Systems Consultancy Ltd (QSC) – having worked with them for over 10 years.

During this time there has been significant changes in the business requiring the Integrated Management System (IMS) to be changed to meet ever increasing demands from both clients and other interested parties.

QSC have assisted in revising the systems to meet these changes whilst ensuring the integrity of the IMS to meet all the standard requirements.

The scope of the Integrated Management System (IMS) is recorded as ‘the Supply, Repair and Re-treading of Earthmover Vehicle Tyres and services associated with the maintenance, removal and replacement of tyres’.

Exclusions in the IMS were considered –  the company did not have any justifiable exclusions and therefore all clauses of the Standards were addressed.

Operational Controls

To ensure consistency of product and service Kal Tire Ltd have developed and improved on its systems to manage and produce products to meet and exceed customer expectations.

The system includes a complete start to finish inspection of tyres, repair, test and fitting service.

Health and safety is top priority and is always the first consideration before any work is undertaken.

The tyres supplied by Kal Tire have positive environmental performance, reducing the impacts on the environment whilst ensuring top quality and integrity is maintained.

As part of the IMS new improved documents have been introduced, better methods of communication, improved production set ups all introduced to achieve a better service to clients.

Supplier reviews have been completed and information obtained to demonstrate that suppliers are being monitored.

Monitoring and measurement

All parts of the business generate different information that is managed.

The information includes safety data, customer perception and feedback, permit compliance etc.

Other data reviewed includes production performance, supplier performance, business risks and opportunities.

Internal Audits

A key part of addressing the requirements of the IMS is to carry out Internal Audits to see how well the business is doing to meet the requirements of the Standards.

The Internal Audits at all of the Kal Tire depots have been completed by QSC who are considered to be impartial from the processes being audited. Any non-compliances have lead to improvements to the system and have been used to drive continual improvements.

QSC have helped Kal Tire develop Internal Audit schedules to ensure all processes of the system have been covered as part of an Internal Audit.

The audit process is used as a positive method for identifying system strengths as well as weaknesses. All of which strive to achieve the expectations of interested parties and improve the companies IMS.

Kaltire Ltd are a prime example of how by the development and best practises of a QMS, a business can become better at what it does, attract more customers and become more efficient.

External Audit

The IMS has been implemented and developed and audited on a number of occasions by the External Certification Body.

This shows the company is implementing the requirements and controls needed to achieve and maintain ISO certification to all 3 Standards and has been independently verified.
