ISO Certification more trusted than a Brexit trade deal

Brexit will not affect an internationally recognised ISO standard

Now is the time to get ISO Certified.

With all the uncertainty relating to Brexit, you need an internationally recognised standard with no restrictions to trade.

Many businesses implement ISO Standards because they are recognised and trusted across the world. Many of our clients have worked hard to achieve ISO certification for either regulatory requirements or to demonstrate their high-quality business practices. While the outcome of Brexit is uncertain, there is however a certainty that ISO standards will remain and their value holds true for all parties and that the need for them is greater than ever.

ISO meaning the ‘International Organisation for Standardisation’ is made up of 163 National Standards Bodies in the UK. ‘International’ meaning ‘between nations’ and as a component of your Brexit preparations here at QSC we would strongly recommend using ISO as a business tool to demonstrate efficiency and stability.

ISO standards have a good reputation nationally and internationally and will remain the same and companies who hold certification will undoubtedly benefit from using their ISO Standards to uphold their reputation – it also demonstrates their ability to adapt to change and uncertainty more easily.

The way ISO create and maintain standards will not change due to Brexit and therefore the practicalities of working with international partners based on standardisation remains the same as it was. UKAS is the national accreditation body for the UK, recognised by the UK Government, and this won’t change after Brexit.

Quality Systems Consultancy Limited (QSC) have been assisting companies for many years with the implementation of Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems helping them to become certified to the Quality Standard ISO 9001:2015, the Environmental Standard ISO 14001:2015 and Health & Safety Standard ISO 45001:2018 but never has it been so important to invest time, money and resources in implementation of internationally recognised certifications.

Brexit will undoubtedly provide opportunities, irrespective of tariffs, barriers and financial constraints, there will be new marketing opportunities and supply networks to explore and opportunities to develop new relationships – preparation is key.
