Are Your Auditors Trained?
When you have written your ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 14001:2015 system and have carried out the necessary training and awareness and have got all the relevant documentation and records in place, how do you know if your system is compliant?
The standards require documentary evidence that internal audits have been completed and the system meets the businesses own Quality Management requirements and conforms to the ISO Standard(s) and is effectively implemented and maintained.
If your internal auditors have not been suitably trained how can you rely on the findings of their audit reports ?
How do you know if the whole system has been audited to the correct level of expertise and the findings truly reflect the status of the system?
Are your auditors impartial from the area they are auditing ?
Do your auditors know what they are looking for and how to ask for the information ?
Are they aware of the audit report content requirements and how to record the findings and equally importantly how to address non compliances?
